Membership

The South Mountain Conservancy is a non-profit volunteer-driven organization whose mission is to protect, restore and enhance the South Mountain Reservation’s ecology, infrastructure and natural beauty. The Conservancy is the only group solely dedicated to ensuring the health of the Reservation for future generations to enjoy. With the help of dozens of volunteers our efforts include building, clearing and maintaining trails, regenerating the forest, battling invasive species, trash pick-up and educating the community. Additionally, we offer free guided hikes throughout the year and manage community events like the spring Mayapple Trail Run, the fall SMR Family Campout, and various Citizen Science programs. Our work is particularly important considering reduced county budgets and the environmental stresses placed on this exceptional natural resource.

All membership fees and donations are tax deductible as the Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.
