2-3 hours covering about 4 miles at a modest pace, hiking on rocky and possibly muddy or icy trails. One significant hill. Steady rain or icy roads cancels. Hydrological, geological and ecological features will be highlighted, especially the Rahway River. Children are welcome, at your discretion. No dogs please.
Meet at the Locust Grove parking lot on Glen Ave. in Millburn, across from the Millburn Library (lots of parking there or in the NJ Transit lot across the street). Cosponsored by the Rahway River Watershed Association and South Mountain Conservancy. Leader Dr. Kirk Barrett, President of RRWA and expert on local water issues.
