**TRAIL WORK, SUNDAY MAY 7th, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.**
This month we will be working on the Lenape Trail at the intersection with the Pingry Trail. This trail section is not easily accessed, with Painter’s Point being the closest point (though a river crossing, usually easy, is necessary). Tools will be brought by car via another route. We will clearing out two swales along the Pingry and a water bar on the Lenape. **CORRECTION:** **Meet at the [Dog Park](https://www.google.com/maps/place/South+Mountain+Dog+Park/@40.739827,-74.289862,311m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m6!3m5!1s0x89c3ac1569a8bf37:0x89b2e6a67f87f323!8m2!3d40.7398272!4d-74.2898648!16s%2Fg%2F1vxzbkns?hl=en), 10 Bear Lane** (NOT Painter’s Point since Brookside Drive is closed to traffic on Sunday mornings).
Trail work is physically challenging but very satisfying as we use hand tools to build and repair trails. Participants must be 15+ years. Those younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Participants should wear long pants due to [ticks](https://www.somocon.org/?page_id=193928&fb) and sturdy shoes, and bring gloves (though backup gloves will be available). Tools, water, and a snack will be provided. (Registration is not required.)
