It is with great sadness that the Conservancy reports the passing of Dave Hogenauer of Crane’s Mill, West Caldwell, on April 3rd at 86 years of age. For 17 years, until 2018, Dave served as a hike coordinator and leader, coordinator of the Trailkeepers and Chainsaw Gang, and park historian. He worked on all the South Mountain Reservation maps and completed his Trail Guide to the SMR in 2017. His History of the South Mountain Reservation will be published later this year.
The Conservancy plans to install a memorial bench in Dave’s honor along Crest Drive.
